“When Coronavirus hit, a large percentage of our sales were coming from on-premise and we knew we really needed to ramp up our direct-to-consumer sales.
We’d been thinking of making the switch to a new company for a while as our previous storage and logistics supplier was not meeting our needs anymore and unfortunately were fraught with errors. Boxes with other brand names were re-used which didn’t look professional to the customer. I didn’t want to promote mixed dozen cases previously, as I didn’t have the confidence in our packaging and delivery company to get the order right; When your business and reputation are on the line, it really matters.
The pandemic really prompted us to act sooner rather than later on this and move across to WINEDEPOT, which appealed to us for a number of reasons. We’re a lot more confident with WINEDEPOT’s accuracy and know that even if a customer wants a personalised note, they can include this – small details that help us rest easy.
As a small production winery, we loved the reduced storage fees and ability to have many SKUs in small volumes, without being charged for a full pallet storage. This solution of only paying for the storage space you use made a lot more sense for us as a winery with small volumes of many wines.
We’ve sent a lot of cases in the last few months and it’s been going really well, everything is picked and packed properly. I have full confidence with WINEDEPOT that the customer is going to receive a nice box of wine at the other end, promptly and professionally.
The easily accessible tracking numbers attached to every, order as well as the simple online ordering system and the live inventory are all really appealing for us as a brand too.
Our direct-to-consumer sales have more than doubled, too.
