WINEDEPOT welcomes Delatite wines

The Company is pleased to advise that WINEDEPOT has recently signed up Delatite Wines a ‘Halliday Five Red Star Winery’ run for two generations by the Ritchie family.

Planted in 1968 under direction of Jim Irvine, one of the Barossa Valleys most eminent winemakers, the Delatite winery is located on a picturesque rise overlooking Mt Buller in north-east Victoria and is believed to be Australia’s first cool climate vineyard.

Delatite’s approach to wine making is minimal intervention, allowing ‘wild’ yeast ferments, no artificial fining agents and generally minima or no filtration – producing small batch, complex high quality wines with great structure and complexity.

In the early days they sold all their fruit to Brown Brothers, who impressed with the quality bottled it under separate ‘Delatite’ special and limited release ranges. However recognising the potential of their vineyards the family engaged Dr Tony Jordan and Brian Croser to help them build their own winery in 1982.

Since then they haven’t looked back, with their very first reds and whites all won Gold medals at national shows, with subsequent vintages collecting accolades, awards, trophies and medals ever since.

WINEDEPOT is proud to welcome Delatite Wines to the list of esteemed brands using its integrated trading and logistics platform.
